To mark the start of The Ryder Cup today we held a special Gents 4BBB Open Competition at Whitefield Golf Club. What started out being a perfect autumn day quickly turned and by early afternoon the showers had set in making scoring extremely difficult.

image2 golfThe conditions were ideal for scoring early on with receptive greens and very little wind to contend with but as the day went on a low score became much more elusive. Several pairs took advantage of the conditions earlier on and some impressive scores were recorded.

1st place 45 points Ray Standring – Hindley Hall & Ray Twist – Mytton Fold win a dozen Titleist ProV1’s & FJ CabrettaSof glove each

2nd place 43 points Gary Garner – Haigh Hall & Jordan Garner – Worsley Marriott win a dozen Titleist TruSoft & FJ Weathersof glove each

3rd place 42 points J.Stapleton & B. Woodhead win a dozen Titleist Velocity balls each

Nearest the pin on the 3rd hole was won by Kieth Bradshaw from Bury Golf Club who wins a dozen Titleist TruSoft balls

Longest drive on the 15th hole was won by Lee Murphy from Brookdale Golf Club who wins a dozen Titleist TruSoft balls

There were 8 – 2’s recorded who all win 6 Titleist ProV1’s each
